Michele Robson and Wisteria Park Shenandoah

Wisteria Park Shenandoah – aka Sparkle

Born on 20/12/2005, Sparkle is a double registered paint/pinto mare by multi champion stallion Belvedere Watch The Paint, out of a well bred cutting mare Beaurein Freckles Fusion. She was bred by Wisteria Park Stud at Wallacia. I first saw Sparkle when she was a few days old and was taken by her then. I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase Sparkle when she was a few months old and her first show was the 2006 Foal Show at Hawkesbury showground.

Sparkle has been shown lightly over the years since then, mainly as a pinto, but also as a paint, and has been proven to be a winning mare at halter, winning multiple champions and a supreme, also claiming Reserve Champion Pinto Mare twice at Sydney Royal; the first time was when Sparkle was a yearling, winning her class against other older and more mature mares and then going on to reserve champion, the second time just this year, 2010, again against older mares in good sized classes. Her show career went on hold during the EI outbreak when Sparkle became very sick herself. Luckily she recovered fully and was ready to resume her career.

Sparkle first started under saddle in 2009 – and we have taken things slowly, but her saddle show career will start in earnest in 2011. She had her first major ridden show at this years’ Pinto State Titles, winning modest placings through the weekend and doing well to place second out of six in her novice galloway hack class.

Sparkle has matured and grown into a lovely mare – and I am proud to own her. We look forward to the future and are honoured and excited to be sponsored by Fun and Funky Horsewear! See you at the shows!!
